Is There A Vegan Protein Bar Out There?

Vegan Protein BarsYes! All of our products, namely The Simply Bar and Simply Protein Chips, are completely suitable for vegans and vegetarians. Our vegan protein bars are Vegetarian Society Approved and Certified Vegan. We ensure that all our ingredients are vegan and responsibly sourced.

A vegan/vegetarian diet is beneficial on a personal level and on a larger scale; it is ethical, environmentally friendly (a carnivore’s diet creates seven times more greenhouse gas emissions than a vegan’s), and in many aspects, kinder to our bodies.

 

What’s In Our Protein Bars?

  • We adhere to simple principles: foods that are easy to digest and environmentally cautious.
  • All of our products are made with 12 ingredients or less (no preservatives or extra ingredients that you can’t pronounce).
  • They do not contain honey, or eggs, and are completely dairy-free.
  • We use vegan protein (non-GMO soy) in our bars. Soy protein contains all eight essential amino acids, which is rare for vegetarian proteins.
  • Each bar has 20% of our recommended daily iron intake and 16g of protein. Vegans require more protein because the iron from a plant-based diet is less easily absorbed. We recommend eating our bars with some Vitamin C for optimal protein absorption.

 

How Much Protein Does A Vegan Need?

One of the main concerns for any vegetarian or vegan, especially those new to plant-based diets is, “will I get enough protein and meet my nutritional requirements?” An average adult needs 10% - 30% of their caloric intake from protein. Based on a 2000-calories-per-day diet, that’s 50g-150g of protein per day.

As someone who follows a 90% vegan diet, The Simply Bar gives me peace of mind knowing that I am getting a wholesome and balanced snack filled with fiber and protein, as well as other important nutrients such as calcium and iron. The ingredient list is short, and the new reformulated bars mean more fiber than sugar. This is often a concern with some of the other protein bars on the market. The fact that I don't have to worry about gluten is also great. I love the wide variety of flavors as they really cater to all palettes.
